Michelle Carnes

Michelle grew up in NY and moved to Mesa when in high school (former Mtn. View Toro!). She attended college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing and then moved to Baltimore, MD to fulfill her desire of a career in Trauma Nursing. She worked at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in downtown Baltimore, which is one of the biggest and most well known trauma centers in the country. During this time, she attended graduate school at the University of Maryland where she graduated with a Master’s of Science degree and became a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. She then worked at Towson State University in Towson, MD, as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She concurrently worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a medical practice in Glen Burnie, MD.

Michelle had her first child, Thomas Jack (better known at TJ) in 2003. He is striving to be a major league baseball player, and she is sure hoping he does so! She returned to the valley shortly after he was born in order to be closer to her family. It was at this time when she accepted the position as Nurse Practitioner at Oasis OB/GYN, and she has been here ever since! In October of 2007, she was shocked after learning she was pregnant with identical twin girls! “What a blessing it was to have my own boss deliver my twin miracles!” Sydney and Sophia have certainly been great additions to her family and keep her very busy! Michelle also has a big interest in health and fitness. After much research, study, and educational courses, she has become a member of ASBP (American Society of Bariatric Physicians) and helped start Forever Fit by MD.

In her free time she enjoys running, zumba, going to baseball games, board games, broadway musicals, and spending time with friends and family.
