Pregnancy – Safe Medications

The following over-the-counter medications may be taken during your pregnancy:

     1. Tylenol (including extra-strength and generic acetaminophen) for headaches, aches, & pains
     2. Tums, Pepcid or Zantac, & Prevacid for heartburn
     3. Sudafed &/or Robitussin for colds (Robitussin DM is fine if you have a cough)
     4. Benadryl for allergies and trouble sleeping
     5. Monistat or Gynelotrimin for yeast infections
     6. Imodium for diarrhea
     7. Hydrocortisone cream for itchy skin and rashes
     8. Colace, Senokot, or Miralax for constipation
     9. Claritin or Claritin D, Zyrtec or Zyrtec D, Allegra or Allegra D for colds, allergies and congestion

Avoid the following unless recommended by your physician:
     1. Aspirin, Motrin, Advil, Aleve
     2. Pepto-Bismol
